The Crimmins brothers and Angus Maddern from Intense enjoyed a bit of a up and down weekend at Mt Stromlo. There were new sections to get used to, coupled with all the usual weather issues Canberra could dish out . Friday was practically rained out and the course was still running damp into Saturday practice. Nonetheless Andrew Crimmins seemed to be enjoying himself, “Pretty happy that Stromlo has got some new sections, I really like it.” whilst his brother Thomas was equally optimistic “I really like the changes they’ve put in and I think it suits me a bit better with a few more turns and it is a bit more technical.” Teammate Angus Maddern seemed suited to the track, with his stylish flow, the bottom section seemed more in his favour. Minus of course the final hated pedal section.
Sunday morning and Andrew Crimmins once more produced the goods with another solid win in U17′s. Andrew remains undefeated this season. Later in the day Thomas Crimmins wasn’t so lucky, a slide out in a corner up top and a foot unclipping mid air just before the pedally straight toward the bottom, pushed him down into eighth. A crash and a minor mistake saw Thomas off his first National podium ever. Angus Maddern finished equal 11th opposite Brendan Moon, continuing to climb the results ladder with every round. The next race the boy’s will compete in is the National Championships , which should hopefully see the crew achieve their strongest results this season.
