CALLING ALL BANDS, ARTISTS AND DJs! Newton’s Nation, Australia’s biggest action sport and music festival, is giving unsigned artists the chance to perform at this year’s festival! As if that wasn’t enough, promoters have just announced the addition of mix tape whizz kid AJAX as headliner of Friday nights’ line up!
Bang Gang DJs founding member, acclaimed DJ, Club proprietor (The Mercat, Melbourne), and head honcho at Sweat It Out Records, AJAX, has just jumped off a run of shows with Fatboy Slim and jumped on the bill for this year’s Newtons Nation Festival. His electromash mastery, combined with his one stop party shop antics, are another notch in the belt of what is shaping up to be the best Newton’s Nation yet!
If you’re an unsigned artist, you now have the chance to join AJAX, The Getaway Plan and all the other awesome acts playing at this year’s festival. How, you ask? Simply by entering the Newton’s Nation Unsigned Artist Competition! bandit.fm Records, Sony Music and Newton’s Nation are giving one unsigned artist the chance to win a slot to perform at this year’s Newton’s Nation, as well as a 12 month digital distribution deal with bandit.fm Records, and five days of studio time in the Sony Music Australia Studios in Sydney!
Entrants are required to submit one song of their own composition to enter. Fans will vote for the artist that they want to win the competition. The top five most voted for entries will be the Finalists of the competition. The Sony Music A&R team will be listening to all of the entries and will determine the winner from the top five acts voted for by you! On top of the Sony crew’s ears wrapped around this competition, the Onelove DJs will be lending their ears for any specialist Electronic/DJ entries for the overall winner of the record deal, studio time and Newton’s Festival performance!
bandit Records is a digital distribution service aimed at unsigned artists to help their content reach a wider audience, and is the sister arm to the www.bandit.fm website. The distribution deal will service the artists’ content for release across Australia and New Zealand to some of the biggest music portals around including: iTunes, Spotify, Bigpond Music, Rdio, Nokia Music Store, Getmusic, VHA and Optus.
The competition is open now, and will close at 5pm AEST on April 19 so get in quickly!
